Anna Grip is artistic director of Cullberg Ballet since January 2010. Anna Grip joined Cullberg Ballet as ensemble manager in December 2006, and she was appointed acting artistic director since the Spring of 2008. She trained as a dancer at Balettakademien in Stockholm and continued her studies in N.Y. She has worked as a répétiteur and teacher at a number of dance companies and educational institutions, including the contemporary dance companies CCAP in Stockholm, Rosas in Brussels and Nye Carte Blanche in Bergen and at Helsinki City Theatre.
Between 1991 and 1995 Anna Grip was ballet master and then ballet master-in-chief of Östgötabaletten. In spring 1997 Anna Grip worked, in collaboration with Cristina Caprioli and Dansens Hus, to run a training project for young dancers using an alternative teaching philosophy and new teaching methods. Between 2000 and 2004 Anna Grip was the principal of the Danish National School for Contemporary Dance. She has been active in several committees and as a mentor at Danshögskolan’s education for répétiteurs. Between 2004 and 2005 she headed the reference group for dance of the Swedish National Council for Cultural Affairs.

Jane Hopper

Jane Hopper is rehearsal assistant at Cullberg Ballet since summer 2006. Born in England she received her dance training in London and Mannheim, Germany. Between 1997 and 1999 she was soloist and rehearsal director at Luzerner Theater in Switzerland. Then she worked as soloist and choreographic assistant at Komische Oper Berlin until 2001 when she was engaged at Theater Basel under the direction of Richard Wherlock. Besides working with Richard Wherlock she also assisted choreographers such as William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Martino Müller and Hans van Manen among others. She has also set Richard Wherlock’s works for Íslenski Dansflokkurinn, Ballet National de Nancy et de Lorraine, Ballet National de Marseille, Alto Theater Essen and Opéra de Nice. In addition to being a choreographic assistant she has created works like Reflections in 2002 for Theater Nordhausen and Interlude (2002) plus Low Budget Hotel (2004) for Theater Basel.
